Tony Oliva visits Vergas

08/06/2008
Vergas, Minn. (WDAY Sports) - It's not every day you get a baseball "great" to come to your town, but for one evening, the little town of Vergas, Minnesota had a twins hall-of-famer all to itself. It began with a chauffeured fire truck entrance. It ended with autographs and a talk to the kids, but in the middle, it was all baseball. Thanks to the Minnesota amateur baseball website, the Vergas Loons won a special appearance by Twins hall-of-famer Tony Oliva. Oliva, one of the top hitters in Twins history, passed on what knowledge he could in the limited amount of time.
